The beginning of the end of the two-party system
LITTLE ROCK, AR – Free & Equal, an election reform organization and sponsors of the 2012 third party Presidential Debates today announced an "A" list line up of musicians, celebrities, comedians and grassroots leaders who will congregate in Little Rock, Arkansas on June 22, at the Verizon Arena for the ‘United We Stand (UWS) Festival’
“This festival will be the kick-off event for a peaceful, powerful and positive movement," said Christina Tobin, founder of Free & Equal and co-moderator of the 2012 Third Party Presidential Debates with Larry King. "We will ignite a true grassroots effort to break the stranglehold of the two-party system. We intend to reform the US electoral process once and for all,” she said. “This festival is the beginning of the solution to the political status quo problem.”
Ralph Nader, a five-time candidate for president, author, lecturer and political activist is expected to speak about electoral reform at the UWS festival. “The democracy gap in our politics and elections spells a deep sense of powerlessness by people who drop out, do not vote, or listlessly vote for the ‘least worst’ every four years and then wonder why after every four years the ‘least worst’ gets worse,” said Nader in his Green Party Candidacy speech in 2000.
Michael O’Donnell, known for his artistic work in Hollywood movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Terminator, Spider-Man 2 and Gone in 60 Seconds, is working with Free & Equal to produce the United We Stand Festival. The band Golden State, led by James Grundler, is confirmed to perform. Golden State’s song "Bombs" (End This War) became a signature ballad for Ron Paul supporters and other anti-war advocates.
Other UWS Festival participants include:
Jordan Page: liberty musician
Tatiana Moroz: singer-songwriter
Josh Tolley: Host of the Josh Tolley show, with 9 million listeners per week

Others who have been invited include musical artists Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, Krist Novoselic of Nirvana, Lupe Fiasco,Paul McCartney, Ziggy Marley, Michael Franti and SOJA. Edward Griffin, talk show host Alex Jones, and former NJ Superior Court Judge and Fox News analystAndrew Napolitano have also been invited to participate in the festival. Additional speakers and sponsors are expected to be announced soon.
Tobin went on to say: “Arkansas was a natural choice for the location of the UWS Festival. While participating in an End the Fed rally in Little Rock last November, I met an incredible and diverse group of people from all parties; Tea Party, Occupy Arkansas, Students for Liberty, Libertarian, Green, as well as Democrat and Republican. They all were willing to set aside their differences and unite behind the need for electoral reform, to inspire others to peacefully end ballot barriers and create genuinely free elections. That is what Free & Equal and the United We Stand Festival is all about”
